Canada is a large country in North America . It's got a border with the United States in the south . The Atlantic Ocean is to the east of Canada and the Pacific Ocean is to the west . The capital of Canada is Ottawa and the currency is the Canadian dollar .

The official languages of Canada are English and French . Most Canadians speak English , but French is the main language in the Quebec area . All students study English and French in schools , but people also study Spanish , German and Mandarin .

The population of Canada is about 34 million and a lot of people from other countries live and work there . in big cities , like Vancouver and Toronto , over thirty per cent of the population come from uotside Canada . in particular , there are a lot of people from Europe , Asia and the USA , but there are also people from Africa and South America .
