Dear John.

Hi, I'm in New Zealand. I'm staying with my housemate on his 12 metre boat. We're in a beautiful bay with hills all round us. Life on the boat is fantastic. It's so different to living in the city. There's no TV and there are no computer games, but there are so many other things to do. I'm having lots of fun. I'm learning to sail and we go fishing every day. We eat fish for dinner every night. Wish you were here so you could meet Michael - my housemate... for now, I can just describe him to you. He is tall and slim. He has short black hair. He has got an oval face with big bright eyes, a high nose and a small mouth. Michael is helpful, caring and honest. He is quite reserved and likes peace and quiet - just like me. By the way this is the best holiday of my life. I'm having a wonderful time! It's really sunny and hot so I keep going into the ocean to cool off, it's very salty though! It's also very clear - I can see all the way to the bottom of the ocean! There are lots of very pretty fish, Michael says there is something called the 'Coral Reef' which is very precious, and we get to go diving tomorrow to have a look at it! Yesterday we went for a walk and we saw a funny looking animal that had 2 legs which it bounced on instead of walking, really small arms and its very own pocked on its belly that it carried its baby in, how funny! I like everything about my holiday so far! It's lots of fun! You would love it here! and again - wish you were here! Take care.
