You are staying in an English-speaking country. Write an email to a friend telling them about some of things you have eaten. Tell your friend what you liked best and what was the worst or strangest food you tried. Try to explain what the food looked like and tasted like.

Hi ___________ <----------- Imię jakie preferujesz
It is already my second week in Scotland. I’m writing to you, because I would like to share with you some of my experiences. Scotland is absolutely beautiful. There’s lots of hills and castles here. Also I have seen many Scots wearing kilts which looks really great. However the best thing about Scotland is the food. I already tried some of typical Scottish dishes and drinks and I really enjoyed most of them.
One of the best Scottish meals is haggis. It’s sheep’s liver, heart and lungs minced and wrapped in animal’s stomach. It doesn’t sound tasty, but it’s absolutely delicious! A little bit spicy, and very meaty. It can be served with tatties (different word for potatoes) or just as haggis itself. I can definitely recommend it to you in both versions.
Another typical Scottish food which I tried is cranachan. It’s a type of traditional Scottish dessert. It is made from berries, whipped cream, honey, whiskey and oatmeal. Cranachan isn’t very sweet. The taste is rather creamy, oaty and a little bit fruity. The best thing about this dessert is that it is food for everybody. I saw it served at home in a common bowl but also I saw it served in a champagne flute in a very posh restaurant. So this dessert can be eaten by poor and posh people. When I will be in Poland again, I will make you some so you can judge it yourself.
The only one thing which I don’t like is one of Scottish drinks. It called Irn-Bru and it is a type of fizzy drink. My friends from Scotland recommended me to try this one. Unfortunately I don’t like the taste at all. The liquid is orange, but it has nothing in common with an orange’s taste. Irn-Bru tastes like very sweet chewing-gum. I bought some more for you to try, because this drink is very specific and impossible to get anywhere else than here, in Scotland.
I can’t wait to see you again and I hope that you share my enthusiasm about trying some of Scottish meals when I come back home. I’m looking forward to see you soon.
