The Lamp
Once upon a time, there was a wanderer. He He was trying to get to his grandma's house. He must pass trough the dark jungle to get to her house. But, the wanderer lost in the dark forest.
When he's trying to find his way out, he found an old woman crying. He walk up to her and asked her what happened. "A devil stole my lamp, it was my only hope." After he knew what happened, the wanderer ask the woman again what was the devil look like. The old woman said, the devil was short and its skin is red. The wanderer asked again, "Do you know where it lives?" The woman replied, "It lives in a cave near here, you can found the cave by going straight on this path. You'll see a big tree, the tree is the biggest tree on this forest. The cave is just beside the tree." The young wanderer understood, then he went to the cave by going straight on the path just like the old woman said. Not long after that, he found the big tree. He walked up to it. He can the the cave beside the tree, just like the old woman said. He entered the cave and take out his torch. When he light his torch, he sees the devil with the old woman's lamp. The wanderer ask the devil to return the lamp to him nicely, but the devil refuses. "Fine, if you cannot take the easy way, I'll do the hard way."
He putted down his bag, and lift up his arms, he was ready to fight the devil. The devil underestimated the wanderer. "Hah! You're going to fight me? Sure, I will win anyway." The wanderer had lost his patience, he punched and kicked the devil. The devil was scared and ran away. "You win this time, I promise I'll get a revenge on you!" The wanderer then picked up the lamp and his bag, then went out from the cave. He ran away with happiness. He can see the old woman from distance. She was waiting with anxiety. "Hey, Old woman! Look what I've got!" The old woman saw the wanderer. She was very happy to see the wanderer in good condition. The wanderer returned the lamp to the old woman. "Here you go, old woman. Hope you'll be happy with your lost lamp," said the wanderer. The wanderer was about to continue his journey, but the old woman grabbed the wanderer's hand and says, "Young man, before you go, I would love to repay you. You can ask anything you want." The wanderer then realizes the old woman was a good witch. He asked the witch to bring him out of this forest so he can visit his grandma's house. The witch understood, then she said a spell. The witch asked the wanderer to close his eyes for 5 seconds, then he can open his eyes again. The wanderer closed his eyes, and then opened it after 5 seconds, just like the witch told him to. He was surprised he was at his grandma's frontyard. The wanderer thanked the witch. He asked the witch the last question, "Mm... you're actually a witch, why don't you just take down the devil yourself?". "Young man, without the lamp, I am nothing. The lamp is like a life source for me. I could have been died there if you weren't there. Once again, thanks young man for your kindness." After saying that, the witch left him. The wanderer then rang the bell, and he was greeted by his grandma.
