At Enoteca Maria he first employed a small group of Italian women. To find them, he placed an advertisement in an Italian newspaper published in New York. The ad called for “Italian housewives to cook regional dishes”. When his restaurant became successful, he decided to introduce foods from different countries and employed grandmothers from all corners of the world to cook there. Now, 30 women work in this unique restaurant. There is also one grandpa from Calabria, who makes delicious pasta.
