How are you? How is your family? You said you were going to visit your extended family for the holidays. I hope everything is well for you and your family.
For starters, Happy New Year! I spent the holidays with my little sister, Abby, my parents and a couple of friends. We couldn't spend new year's eve at my grandparents' house because my dad had a lot of work needed to be done so we spent our new year's eve at home. Dad prepared a barbecue in the backyard. Abby and I invited our closest friends: I invited Cathy and Paula from school and Abby invited Jo and Patricia. Their parents also came so it was a crowded get together. Cathy's dad brought fireworks and Paula's dad launched them into the sky. The fireworks were beautiful. Abby and her friends didn't stay up the entire night so they fell asleep at about 11 o'clock in the night. The adults called it a night 30 minutes past midnight. Cathy, Paula and I couldn't sleep so we ended up staying awake until the next day watching movies online.
Every new year, Abby and I make resolutions that we wrote in pieces of paper that we would keep in our bedside drawers. Mine were to get good grades and get a university scholarship abroad. Abby's were hilarious. She wrote that she wanted to find the end of a rainbow to steal the gold from the leprechaun and ride a unicorn. Who could blame her? She was still in the first grade.
For the rest of the remaining week, I decided to become very unproductive by watching tv series online every hour for the rest of the days left of the week. I do this so that by the second week of the year, I will have enough motivation to get out of bed and do something productive with my life.
I hope that you write back soon. It would be interesting to hear about what you did during new year's eve.
