Complete the text. Use the past simple or past continous form of the verbs in brackets.

I 1 (arrive) at Sam;s party at 9.30 p.m. Lots of people 2 (dance) in the living room. I 3 (go) into the kitchen. Mike 4 (be) there. He 5 (stand) in front of the fridge. He 6 (eat) a pizza. I 7 (say) hello, but he 8 (not hear) me. I don't think he 9 (listen). I 10 (leave) the kitchen and 11 (walk) into the hall. Linda 12 (sit) on the stairs. She 13 (hold) her head in her hands. Her shoulders 14 (shake), but she 15 ( not cry). She 16 (laugh).
