Biography

My name is Marta Borkowska. I`m also called “Marfa” by my closest friends.  I was born in 20th January 1993 in small town (Żbików), which is surrounded by forest. It’s about 70 km away from Poznań.

When I was  15 my parents sent me to the private language school, where I have started studying English. It was amazing feeling, new people, new teachers, and my dreams about getting knowledge of English came true.

I have undergone a lot of fantastic adventures with my classmates, for instance the trip to the USA where we spent time with American native speakers, and it was really good for us. We could practise our language skills. The next adventure, was in the classroom, when one of us ran a English lesson because the teacher had throat sore and he couldn’t speak anything, it was really difficult and very time-consuming, to explain everything to the others. But I  this adventures brought  us up, and it goes without saying, that we spent this time very efficiently.

Form my language experience I know that the best way of learning is with the native speakers, for example from UK,  Australia or the USA, but I know that it is impossible to learn in this way. So I prefer learning with my friends. This means,  we meet every weekends, and cooking, and we speak to each other in English, no Polish and other languages! So I conclude the best way of learning for me, is of course through practice, making conversations, and listening to the English songs, and films, with Polish subtitles.
