Nowadays number of crimes is still increasing. There are plenty of reasons of this phenomenon. Despite of the fact that society is trying to fight with it, it becomes more difficult and impossible. People claim that the best solution of this problem is bring into effect stricter punishments for criminals. Is it a good idea? From my point of view it can be a good way to low the number of crimes.
First of all, the idea of increasing the punishments can cause that people who live in disagreement with law may be afraid about their life in the jail where they will be able to sepnd many years without their family. Secondly, people who were victims of crime feel more safe when they know that the man who hurt them is still in prison and he does not have a n opportunity to revange on them or hurt them once again. They will have a chance to come back to normal life without fear.
On the other hand, prisoners live thanks to our taxes and they do not work so the idea of getting more stricter sentences may cause that we will have less money but the criminals will lead life like normal people even better.
On balance, I can state, inspite of having some disadvantages, that the idea of getting stricter punishments is a good solution. I believe that thanks to it criminals will think twice before they commit a crime.
