We set off early this morning and I was so thrilled! Finally, after years of dreming about it, I was going on a African safari. As we drove across the land, I took in the awesome scenery: tall trees, golden grass and misty mountains. It was a sight to see!
After driving for an hour, we came across a herd of zebras in the distance. They were drinking from a water hole. We watched them for while admiring their unique black and white stripes. They suddenly, they all started running away. At first couldn't see what was happening but then I noticed a cheetah running after them at lightning speed. However, it didn't manage to catch one. DIsappointed, it lay down under a tree and went to sleep.
We continued on our journey, passing giraffes, wild dogs and hippos. Them as the sun began to set we saw a herd of elephants. They walked past us silently and slowly just a few meters from the van! I wanted to reach out and touch them but knew that it was against the safari rules. Still it was an incredible experience and I can't wait to go out again tomorrow!
