I'm writing to express my concern about the safety in our town. Last night I witnessed an act of vandalism. A few young hoodlums broke the windscreens of the cars parked in front of my block of flats. On seeing this, I called the police, yet they had arrived too late to apprehend the vandals.
In fact, such acts have been on the increase in the recent weeks. More cars have been damaged. Unfortunately, the culprits have never been caught. It is due to the ineffective work of the local police, which in my opinion, neglects their duties, which are to serve and protect the local community. For this reason, I would like the town council to take an immediate action and resolve this problem, so that our community is better protected against vandalism.
