Brothers and sisters who were started by Allah SWT, this time I will deliver a short lecture about the virtues and laws of fasting in Shawwal.
On this occasion which is still in the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr, may we all forgive each other and return in a holy state and always blessed by Allah SWT.
My brothers and sisters, Allah has ordained in every fardhu or obligatory practice of nafilah, just as prayer there is a sunnah ratibah which is performed before or after prayer. So after fasting Ramadan, it is also sunnah for us to fast nafilah in the month of Shawwal, even the reward and the reward is very large.
Rasulullah SAW explained it in a Hadith narrated by Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, he once said:
"Whoever fasts completes the fast of Ramadan, then he fasts six days in a row in Shawwal, then it is as if he has fasted all year." You have fasted for 30 full days and every good deed will be rewarded 10 times.
So 30 times 10 equals 300 plus the six days of Shawwal multiplied by 10 to make 60. If you add up, the two are 360. Thus, it is as if a servant has fasted 360 days. It is a year-round fast.
This is a great mercy for the people of Muhammad SAW. May Allah SWT give us taufik and strength, give us patience, enthusiasm, to be able to complete the month of Ramadan, namely by fasting nafilah six days in the month of Shawwal. So the practice of fasting six days in the month of Shawwal can cover all the shortcomings that we do when we carry out the fard fast in the month of Ramadan.
That's a short lecture from me, hopefully it's useful
