Last year on Christmas Holiday, me and my family decided to have a tour to an icon of Kalimantan, the lake of Labuan Cermin. We tried to look up for preferences to have foresights about the place, and tried to search for images that represents the Labuan Cermin Lake. Turns out, it is really amazing. It shows a real clear blue lake, and rumor has it that if you dive into it (you are allowed to play around and in the lake), the upper water is cold and consisting of fresh lake water. But when you dive deeper underneath, the water around the bottom of the lake is warm and consisting of salt water.

We are darned curious of the place and so fixed our holiday destination to the Labuan Cermin lake that is located at the region of Biduk-Biduk. First, we'll have to plan the route. The fastest route is to cut from Samarinda to Bontang, then continue to the city of Sangatta, and take an unofficial water pedestrian bridge. A boat will carry us and our car through. We had the plans already, with a GPS application that will navigate us along the way.

Although the journey in reality is way more difficult. Let's just say, we lost our way on the journey from Sangatta to find the pedestrian and obliged to go back to the Sangatta, look for help and finally changed the GPS application we use. The new application is mentioned to be more accurate in leading us along an off-road tour. Finally, we found the pedestrian and got across. Another trouble comes ahead when our car ran out of fuel at the outskirts of Biduk-Biduk.

Luckily, we found a villager that sells retail gasoline. We filled up our fuel and continued the journey. Finally, after days of venturing, we got to the Biduk-Biduk, stayed in an inn for 2-3 days. We also went to other recreation places such as beaches. The Labuan Cermin lake is really amazing, indeed. Anything that our preferences said is true and we've proved it ourselves. I am so happy to experience such vacation.
