Persamaan garis singgung dg P(2,3), m = 3 dan r = √40 :
y - y1 = m(x - x1) ± r√(1 + m²)
y - 3 = 3(x - 2) ± √40 . √10
y = 3x - 6 + 3 ± 20
y = 3x - 3 ± 20

y = 3x - 3 + 20
y = 3x + 17
3x - y + 17 = 0

y = 3x - 3 - 20
3x - y - 23 = 0
