The Bird and the Old Lady
A long time ago there lived an old lady who had a large strawberry farm. The farm was so large that she could collect the strawberries every day. As the time went by, the old lady got weaker and weaker. She could hardly walk down the farm. She asked a bird to help her to collect the strawberries. As the payment, she would give the bird a half of the harvest. The bird accepted the offer happily.
The bird collected the strawberries every day. He gave the harvest to the old lady and got a half of it. When the dry season came, the farm wasn’t as productive as it had been. The harvest was getting less and less. The bird didn’t want to get fewer strawberries than he always got. He tricked the old lady by not giving all of the harvest. He kept some for himself.
The old lady finally find out what the bird did to her. She asked the bird to stop helping her. The bird felt guilty and he apologized to the old lady. The old lady forgave him but she didn’t want to work with him anymore.
