1. We use simple past for expressing an action that takes place in the past.
2. Positive Subjetc + main verb in past + complement. Negative Subject + auxilary verb conjugated in past + main verb + complement. Interrogative Auxilary verb + subject + verb in infinitive form + complement.
3. She read a book yesterday. I cleaned my house last weekend. We were in our house last night.
4. Did she read a book yesterday? - She didn't read a book yesterday. Did I clean my house last weekend? - I didn't clean my house last weekend. Were we in our house last night? - We weren't in our house last night.
