Activity 3: Identifying and Translating O A. Identify the noun modifiers in the form of prepositional phrase and adjective clause (finite/ non-finite) in the following text! Nilai Kujang is a unique weapon from West Java. Kujang began to be made around the 8th century or the 9th, made of iron, steel, and prestige material. The length is about 20 to 25 cm and the weight is about 300 grams. Kujang is a tool that reflects the critical acumen and power in life, also symbolizes strength and courage to protect the rights and truth. It has become a weapon, an agricultural tool, a symbol, decoration, or souvenir. Kujang is divided into some parts, they are: papatuk/congo (the end of kujang which resembles an arrow tip), eluk/silih (the indention on the back), tadah (arch in the middle part of kujang), and mata (small holes covered with metal gold and silver). Besides its shape, the material that is used to create kujang is unique as well. The material is dried, porous, and contains many natural metals. Based on its function, kujang is divided into four, kujang pusaka (symbol of greatness and refuge), kujang pakarang (a weapon used for war), kujang pangarak (as traditional ceremony device), and kujang pamangkas (as farming device). Kujang as farming device is still used by indigenous people Urang Kanekes (Baduy). The popularity of kujang for Sundanese is not doubted. Meanwhile, ironically, the existence of kujang as a tool and as a heritage began to vanish. Nowadays, kujang can be encountered in museums with relatively small quantities and are owned by the elders or humanists who still love kujang as their ancestral heritage.
