Nowadays more and more young people spend their spare time in front of a computer screen. Teenagers enjoy playing computer games but is this activity safe for them?

 

Firstly, playing computer games improve logical thinking. Most of the games are strategy ones. To play these games a young person needs to think a lot how to win.

Another advantage is the fact that video games relieve stress that teenagers have at school. After playing a person is relaxed and thinks that the time spent on playing video games was very enjoyable.

Thirdly, it is possible that while playing computer games teenagers practise their computer skills. The longer they play the better skills they gain.

Unfortunately playing video games has also some minuses. First of them is the fact that spending long hours on playing may cause headaches and problem with eyes. It is also unhealthy for our body because while sitting we don’t do exercise and in the end, we gain weight.

Secondly, young people who love playing video games spend more time in front of a computer screen than with friends. This may cause social problems and even depression.

The third disadvantage is the matter of violence. Many games show violent behaviours such as fights, arguments. A young person might start thinking that having a fight is a great way to express one’s emotions.

 

All in all, I believe that everything is for people and we shouldn’t forbid children to play video games. The only thing we should remember is the fact that nobody should spend too much time in front of a computer screen but as long as it is just a hobby we have nothing to worry about.
