39 - 6x = 8x + 7

- 14x = - 32
x = 32/14 = 16/7

c) 3(2x - 3) - (1 - x) - (x + 1) = 0
6x - 9 - 1 + x - x - 1 = 0
6x = 11
x = 11/6
