7. 2p + 1 = 7
8. 5q - 1 = -16
9. 8m + 9 = 5m
10. 9p - 10 = 4p

1.  x - 3 = 2
     x      = 2 + 3 = 5

2. y + 5 = 9
     y      = 9 - 5 = 4

3. p - 4 = -3
     p    = -3 + 4 = 1

4. x + 9 = 4
       x    = 4 - 9 = -5

5. y - 3 = -10
     y     = -10 + 3 = -7

6. p + 7 = -2
     p      = -2 -7 = -9

7. 2p + 1 = 7
       2p   = 7 - 1 = 6
                      p= 6  = 3
                           2

8. 5q - 1 = -16
     5q    = -16 +1 = -15
                      q  = -15 = -3
                               5

9. 8m + 9 = 5m
     8m - 5m = -9
     3m         = -9
