Sebanyak 27,6 gram etanol C₂H₅OH dilarutkan dalam 54 gram air (Ar C = 12, H = 1, O = 16). Hitunglah:
a. fraksi mol etanol,
b. fraksi mol air!

Mol etanol = massa/Mr = 27,6/46 = 0,6

Mol air = 54/18 = 3

Fraksi mol etanol Xt = mol etanol / [mol etanol + mol air]

Xt = 0,6 / [0,6 + 3]

∴ Xt = 6/36 = 1/6

∴ fraksi mol air Xp = 1 - Xt = 1 - 1/6 = 5/6
