Past Continuous a Past Perfect Continuous:
1. (PC) It was raining.
(PPC) It had been raining hard.
2. (PC) I was reparing the roof.
(PPC) I had been reapring the roof for three weeks.
3. (PC) You were playing football.
(PPC) You had been playing football and so you felt tired.
4. (PC) She was sleeping.
(PPC) She had been sleeping since morning.
5. (PC) She was cooking dinner all day.
(PPC) She had been cooking dinner for long time.
6. (PC) I was running.
(PPC) I had been running for 6 hours.
7. (PC) Rob was driving.
(PPC) Rob had been driving for tvelve hours, when the accident occurred.
8. (PC) When we came home, our children were (still) watching TV
(PPC) When we came home, our children had been watching TV. (They forgot to turn it off)
