Nicholas Copernicus was born in Toruń in Poland in 1473.His Polish name was Mikołaj Kopernik.He had three brothers and sisters.
In 1491, Copernicus went to the university in Kraków.He studied maths , astronomy and geography . White he was a student , he started to use the name Copernicus. He was a student in Kraków for four years . Then he went to two universites in Italy: in 1496 and again in 1501.
When Copernicus finished university he went to live in Frauenburg .His favourite subject was astronomy and he liked working quietly on his own . He looked at the stars ,sun and moon from a tower. He said that our planet ,the Earth , isn't the centre of the solar system. He said that the Earth goes round every day and the sun doesn't move ! People were very surprised by his ideas and didn't think they were true.
Mikołaj Kopernik urodził się w Toruniu w Polse w 1473 roku. Jego Polskie imię brzmi Mikołaj Kopernik. On miał trzech braci i siostry. W 1491 roku Kopernik udał się na unwiesytet w Krakowie. Studiował matematykę, astronomię i goeografię.Był studentem w krakowie, zaczął uzwyać nazwy Kopernik. Był studentem w Krakowie przez 4lata. Potem udał się na dwa uniwersytety we Włoszech w 1496 i ponownie w 1501 roku.
Kiedy Kopernik skonczył studia, zamieszkał w Frauenburg. Jego ulubionym przedmiotem była astronomia . lubiał pracowac w ciszy w swoim własnym zakątku. Patrzył na gwiazyd, słońce i księżyc z wieży. Powiedział,że nasza planta ziemnia nie w centrum układu słonecznego. Powiedział też, że Ziemia kręci się każdego dnia wookół słońca, a nie posuwa. Ludzie byli bardzo zdziwieni z jego pomysłów i nie wierzyli/że to jest prawda.
