AN ACTIVE HOLIDAY
A: I’m interviewing Martin Holmes, a traveller who likes going to unusual places and having some extraordinary experiences. Martin, can you tell me about your latest trip?
B: Of course. I took a trip round Africa, not on land, but by ship.
A: How expensive was it to travel between different countries by sea?
B: Well actually, I didn’t pay anything and I didn’t have to buy tickets.
A: How is that possible?
B: I went to the port and asked various people if there was a ship I could get on. There were always a few ships in port, so I usually found one quite quickly.
A: Wow! So how long did you have to wait on average?
B: The longest I waited was 24 hours, but that was thanks to some very bad weather, and, as a result, not many ships were leaving port.
A: And what was your most awesome experience?
B: It was definitely when pirates tried to attack our ship in the Indian Ocean. Luckily, they disappeared after the captain quickly changed the course of the ship.
