$\tt \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{3}{4} + \frac{2}{3}$

$= \tt \frac{1}{ \cancel{3}} \times \frac{ \cancel{3}}{4} + \frac{2}{3}$

$= \tt \frac{1}{4} + \frac{2}{3}$

$= \tt \frac{3 + 8}{12}$

$= \tt \frac{11}{12}$

$\tt \frac{4}{5} - \frac{1}{2}$

$= \tt \frac{4 \times 2}{5 \times 2} - \frac{1 \times 5}{2 \times 5}$

$= \tt \frac{8}{10} - \frac{5}{10}$

= 1/4 + 2/3

= 3+8/12

= 11/12
