The Ice hotel has brought new life to the region and the increased tourins in Lapland is helping to keep the Sami culture alive. Jukkasjarvi has become a tourist centre, popular activities include travelling on sleds pulled bu husky dogs, . The snowmobile is not only for pleasure and fun, . Traditionally the sami liver by herfing reindeer, and they travelled across the ice and snow on sleds pulled by huskies or reindeer. Today they also use snowmobiles to follow the reindeer hers and to travel across the tundra.
