PRZETŁUMACZ NA ANGIELSKI : Syn byłego siatkarza Adama Kurka. Urodził się w Wałbrzychu, ale dorastał w Nysie, gdzie jego ojciec w połowie lat 90. odnosił sukcesy z miejscową Stalą[6]. Pierwszy kontakt z siatkówką miał w wieku 8 lat, ale oprócz siatkówki w młodości trenował również koszykówkę. W trzeciej klasie szkoły podstawowej przeniósł się do klasy o profilu siatkarskim. Tam w Uczniowskim Klubie Sportowym Nysa jego trenerem był Roman Palacz (pracował z nim od początku aż do gry w seniorach w klubie AZS Nysa). w wieku 16 lat (2004) zadebiutował w ekstraklasie. W czerwcu 2005 - mimo ofert z kilku czołowych ówcześnie polskich klubów - przeszedł do Mostostalu Kędzierzyn-Koźle[7]. W 2008 stał się graczem Skry Bełchatów. W swojej karierze zdobył m.in. mistrzostwo Europy seniorów (2009) oraz trzykrotnie mistrzostwo Polski (2009, 2010, 2011). W reprezentacji Polski zadebiutował 1 czerwca 2007 w meczu Ligi Światowej z Argentyną (3:1). Dotychczas rozegrał w biało-czerwonych barwach 153 mecze (stan na 8 sierpnia 2012).
