The main environmental problem of the modern world is air pollution. It involves the introduction of solids into the air, warm, or gas that adversely affect human health, climate, wildlife, water, soil, or cause significant changes in the environment. The main contaminants that leak into the air can be divided into gas and dust. Dust alter the physical properties of air. The reason for the changes of chemical properties are gases (carbon monoxide and dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen compounds). Another threat of a global nature is the increased emission of sulfur dioxide S02, excessive amounts it contributes to acid rain. They cause the degradation of forests, vegetation, and animal and human disease. The increase in the production of S02 is caused by the intensification of industrial production. Forests in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany, are particularly vulnerable to degradation by acid rain. In an increasingly larger amounts are emitted into the atmosphere toxic fluorine compounds, and car exhaust, contain poisonous lead compounds and carcinogenic aromatic hydrocarbons. A major environmental problem taking on both the global and regional level is water pollution. Water makes up almost 70% of humans. The average water consumption is 2 - 2.5 liters per capita. Currently, urban dwellers in developed countries consume three times more water than rural residents. Most water uses electricity industry, textile, chemical, metallurgical and food industries. The formation of large urban areas, of rivers, irrational agricultural economy accelerates the depletion of water resources. Annually, the world's irrigated land is almost 220 million hectares of arable land. Today man consumes about 3,000 km3 of water annually. In the process of water circulation in the atmosphere returns only 2 / 3 of that amount. Losses are caused mainly artificial water retention and reducing runoff from land and sea.
