The Butterfly Effect
The movie is based on theory of chaos, according to which even a flutter of a butterfly’s wings can cause a hurricane on the other site of the globe. What means, that the smallest events in our life entail huge, irreversible consequences. But what would happen if a single person was able to turn the clock back and control episodes which had influence on his previous life?
Evan Treborn is 7. He’s brought up by his mother because his father is being treated at a mental hospital. The boy grows up normally until he begins to have temporary declines of memory. His mother decides to send him on therapy. A doctor suggests using an old method of memory improvement: writing a diary and analyzing recorded memories. The time passes by, the boy meets new friends, has different adventures, falls in love… Unfortunately, declines of memory still happen and some events lead up to decision of moving out. Separated from place of his childhood and first love 13 years old Evan begins new stage of life. And then, 6 years later we follow his doings at college, when he comes across his diaries. The boy finds out with fear, as well as curiosity, that he can turn the clock back. Interfering in past events, he radically changes his previous life. Nothing’s going to be the same since now…
‘The Butterfly Effect’ is marvelously created movie with amazing special effects and breathtaking plot. Main character quickly realizes that making a person happy means taking the happiness from another. It’s one of those movies that I willingly get back to and every time I discover something new.
