Rosjanie postanowili zrobić wszystko, by wyprzedzić zachodnich konkurentów.

12 april 1961 was held the first flight of the man into the outer space. Jurij Gagarin spent "Vostok" aboard 108 minutes, during which one time went the Earth around.
His flight was preceded by several flight tests involving animals organized by the U.S. and the USSR. The most famous was the Soviet Laika, which was the first living creature reached orbit. In the West, it was not expected that the first human to orbit the Earth would be a cosmonaut from the Soviet Union.
The decision was made Gagarin's flight on April 3, and accelerated the information that the Americans are planning a similar flight on May 28. The Russians decided to do everything possible to overtake Western competitors. "Vostok" was launched on April 12 a few minutes after nine o'clock Moscow time. - Then everything was unknown, it was not clear how the flight will operate the equipment and how to react to a man. Certain it was one that the mission will be very dangerous - says the only Pole who was in space, General Miroslaw HERMASZEWSKI, then twenty years old. Gagarin through the entire flight hummed a melody "the Homeland can hear, the Homeland knows"; the first words he said which being on a circumterrestrial orbit read as follows: "ah, like nice". Hermaszewski reacted similarly. — in the moment of leaving the breast into the orbit is breaking free great shout of the triumph. To be there and to see the Earth, this hitting — recalls it experience. nie jestem pewna czy wszystko jest na 100 % dobrze, ale mam nadzieje ze pomogłam :)
