Why are the teenangers throwing the rubbish into separate containers?

In this picture I can see two young people throwing garbage to one of the containers. There are to garbage containers. One is for glass and another is for paper. They are throwing some papers into the paper container.

The teenegers are throwing the rubbish into seperate containers because of the garbage segretation policy. Such policy, to segregate garbage, has been in effect for quite a long time, primarly in the western countries. Yet, we have also observed the appearance of seperate containers in Poland in the recent years. In fact, nowasays people are more aware of the fact that we need to recycle used materials, so that we can later produce new materials or products from the used paper, plastic containers or glass. In this way, not only do we save money, but also help to protect the natural environment.
