In The Lord of the Rings , Andy Serkis plays a character called Gollum. But what we see on the screen isn't Andy-it's a computer animation of him . How did they do it? Then Andy played the scene alone a second time on a special stahe in the studio.He wore a motion capture suit' and 25 cameras a round the studio filmed all his movements. After that,the animators used the studio film to create the computer animation of Gollum. Finally they put the animation of Gollum into the scene to fill the space where Andy was. 'What was it like working with Peter and his team ?' an interviewer asked Andy.'It's been one of my most enjoyable working experiences ever,' he replied.'I really feel like I've been on a huge journey this film.'
