Christmas without a Christmas tree with lights and other decorations on it isn't Christmas at all. Maybe that's why so many Britons buy artificial Christmas trees.

If you have a tree, now it's time to think of hanging some stockings on it. They looks like huge socks that should be filled with presents on the morning of the Christmas Day. Of course, presents are hidden under a Christmas tree to be found especially by children.

Chocolates are everywhere. In the stockings and on the plates. After dinner on Christmas Eve, many people have their mince pies and Christmas pudding. A UK tradition says that you should leave mince pies for Father Christmas. Children enjoy having roasted chestnuts and marshmallows.
Carps, which are so popular in Poland, are not eaten on Christmas Eve. Turkey, or sometimes chicken or goose, is the most popular dish in the UK on that day.

Before the meal starts, Christmas crackers are pulled by many family members. An interesting thing is that Britons don't know what a sharing of a wafer is. So, one man's meat is another man's poison.
