Fue predicador de misiones populares y extendió la devoción de la Virgen María. La vida de Francisco Palau se unificó cuando extendió el sentido de la Iglesia católica. Lo que hasta entonces había sido una oscilación confusa desde la soledad al servicio y de vuelta a la soledad cobró sentido para él cuando descubrió que la Iglesia era el misterio de Dios y los prójimos.
