Pros and cons of living in the countryside
PROS:
+ The amount of free space available. Unlike cities, where people live in congested areas with housing limited to apartments, the countryside offers more land to live on, including own house with private garden with a large variety of flora, fauna, and plant life.
+The scenery in the countryside is marvellous in comparison with the jungle of concrete one in town.
+ The air and water in the countryside is much cleaner than that in a city, due to absence of certain pollutants such as vehicles and factories.
+ Calm and peaceful environment without the immediate stresses of rush hours, traffic and noise.
+ Healthy environment where the smell and aroma coming to lungs and body from plants and muck increase immunity and enable people to fight many diseases.
+ Safety is another advantage of living in countryside. People live in close knit communities where neighbours mostly know each other and they notice quickly that something strange is happening in their village. In addition, there is always someone to come for help in need and emergencies.
CONS:
- Problem of communication which includes the luck of internet and telephone reception, road networks and public transportation.
- Inadequacy of commercial activity. Due to this, a wide variety of goods and services such as clothes, cinemas, restaurants, technology, modern and adequate healthcare, higher education are not easily available.
-It’s harder to find work. The unemployment rate is much higher than in the city. Running a farm is a real job and agriculture is not as easy as it may seem.
- There is also sanitation problem. Even today, there are some villages which have open air latrines, and this reduces the quality of hygiene.
