My favourite movie is 8th Mile. The movie is based on the biography of the famous rap artist, Eminem. The movie tells a story of a week from a life of 5 friends. The main character, Jimmy, lives with his insane mother in a trailer in a district called Eight Mile.

 

His entire life revolves around hip-hop. Thanks to it he can escape from the real life. He gets called out because of being white when he takes part in a word battle in "The Shelter" club. He falls in love with a girl who soon after that cheats on him with his friend. His friend has a serious accidend. His mother throws him out of his home. Everyone is discriminative towards him, and his rivals attempt to kill him. He finnaly gets himself together and wins a word battle in "The Shelter" with the previous master, Papa Doc.

 

Music is an important part of this movie. For the song "Lose yourself" Eminem got an Oscar in 2002. It's my favourite movie, because it shows real life, where racism, discrimination and fights are happening every day.
