1. Yes, I sometimes use emoticons. I use them while writing with friends. Emoticons make chatting more pleasurable.

2. There are many types of emoticons.:) - it means that someone is smiling or is happy. :( - it means that someone is sad. :D – it means a big smile. :* - this one means a kiss. :/ - this one means that someone is undecided or confused.

3. No, I don’t think that emoticons and smileys will replace all words in e-mails because we will never be able to express everything using just symbols.
