Bob Kane was a comics book artist for DC Comics. In 1938 superman became a popular superhero for Action Comics , so DC Comics needed a superhero for their comics too. In 1939 Bob invented a character called Birdman but DC Comics didn't like the name . Then a comics book writer, Bill thought of the name Batman and he wrote the first story.  Thousands of children bought Batman comics and toys. From 1966 to 1968 there were 58 Batman television shoes but Bob and Bill didn't get much money from their character. And Bill's name didn't appear in any of the comics.
