Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter video game and sequel to the Call of Duty. It was published in October 2005. Call of Duty 2 takes place during World War II and features three campaigns where the player can be a soldier of the Soviet, British and United States army. In the first campaign, the player is a soldier on the Russian front, Private Vasili Koslov. The player takes part in a house to house fighting across Stalingrad and Moscow. In the second campaign, the player pretends to be British soldiers - Sergeant John Davis and tank commander David Welsh. During the advance from El-Alamein to Tunisia, and the fighting at Caen in Normandy, each time the character must take over buildings, towns, and defend against counterattacks. In the last set of missions, the player starts off by playing a part in D-Day as Corporal Bill Taylor and ends by crossing the Rhine into Germany. Those three separate campaigns makes one fantastic game, which I’ve passed twelve times already and I’ve spent a lot of time playing multiplayer mode. Authors of this game used few movie’s motives, for example “Saving Private Ryan“. Call of Duty 2 is the best warlike game in the world and also the best game I’ve ever played. The plot is impressive and gripping and the graphic is brilliant. Thanks to this game, I’m now more interested in history.
The Dark Knight returns in 2011's sequel to 2009's sleep hit Arkham Aslyum. Now with a new playground said to be five times bigger than the original with more gadgets, and more ways to kick ass. Is Rocksteady's take on Batman a steady shot or have they misfired the Dark Knight in the wrong direction?
Bruce Wayne AKA Batman is captured by Hugo Strange and taken him into Arkham City. Strange reveals to Bruce that he knows his secret identity, saying that he is preparing 'Protocol 10' and if Batman were to try and stop him his identity would be revealed. After this, Bruce is released into Arkham City, a small district full of crazy prisoners, dangerous criminals, and best of all, all of our favorite Batman enemies, such as The Joker, The Riddler, Two-face, Mr Freeze and many more. Of course, as Batman, it is your job to stop them somehow and find out what the hell 'protocol 10' actually is! You'll be glued to your seat wanting to know what exactly is going on in Arkham city and wandering who you'll bump into next.
The game's main quest took approximately around 15 hours to complete, but that is if you don't dabble in the games side quest which could easily add a few more hours. Kudos to the designers for weaving in the side quest into the main game that you'd hardly even notice that you're playing a side quest, the story's are just as well written and some are as enjoyable if not better than parts of the main quest.
Additionally once you've completed the game there are still plenty of challenge rooms, riddler campaigns, and also new game plus gives you all your upgrades and more varied game, meaning this game has a hell of a lot of replay value. There are even plenty of character models and concept art and stories to check out that help you get even more immersed in the Batman universe, well worth checking out for bat fans!
Arkham City is a sandbox that Batman is available to roam around in. Traversing the city has never been so simple, Batman can climb buildings extremely quickly by using his grappling gun to pull himself up, then once up there he can dive off the building and glide towards any given point, and if a boost is needed, he can grapple and launch for a boost. Simple, easy, effective, and most importantly fun!
Although the city is supposed to be five times bigger than the original game, with Batman's traversing abilities it won't take long for you to get around. The city is split into several districts which each contain that areas henchmen, each with their own distinct landmarks, buildings, alley ways, and secret spots. Batman can scale anything and go anywhere he wishes and if you wish to just roam the streets and beat up criminals, no problem.
The fighting system is simple and enjoyable, its more about predicting the flow of the battle with counters, standard attacks, and Batman's gadgets at his disposal; such as remote control battering and freeze grenades. As you progress further into the game, Batman gains experience which can be used to upgrade his armour, gadgets, and to also get access to more combat moves.
However, criminals will come equip with weapons such as guns, electric rods, bats, knives, sniper rifles, shields and armour each with a distinct weakness. Batman has to use his environment around him to defeat the enemies by using the darkness and sneaking up to his enemies, he can take them down in one full swoop. To find the secrets of hiding spots which can be used to his advantage Batman can activate detective mode which highlights and provides information on his environment and enemies, it's not just useful for the survival in a fight, but is essential. That's not to say Batman is weak, but he ain't superman.
As we mentioned before, this is a sandbox game, but the dark and dreary streets of Gotham have never been so beautiful. Draw distances are long and you can genuinely recognise landmarks from the Batman universe. The characters are
detailed and move fluidly at all points in fights. Batman gets worse and worse for wear through the game which is just awesome. Unfortunately though you do have to spend a lot of time in the game's detective mode which turns everything blue and hides the game's beauty. The music is equally dark and fitting to the game, and the most famous voice actors reprise their roles for their characters.
If you are looking to be immerse the world of Batman, look no further, Arkham City really does it's source material justice. If not, regardless you will find a highly enjoyable game and you owe it to yourself to play this game. Rocksteady have done it again!
