Dog can come in many shapes and sizes. From the giant St. Bernard to the tiny chihuahua, dogs are kept as pets around the world. Dogs are canines which means they are family members of such animals as the wolf, the fox and the hyena, to name a few. Originally dogs were used for hunting and farming, but over time they became more domestic. Dogs aren't the smartest animals however they loyal and obedient, making them great friends for all the family. Not only are dogs good as pets but also they are used professionally in many ways. Police, for example, use Great Danes to control criminals and the blind use Labradors to help navigate. Dogs can be quite expensive, breeders can charge up to a £1000 for a pure bred dog. But as we all know the best dog is not a pure bred one, but a mongrel. They are mix of two breeds so they have the characteristics of two dogs, the best of both worlds. It is sad to imagine a world with no doggy partners with their cute smiles and fluffy ears, they are truly man's best friend.

My dog`s name is Daisy. Daisy is a Cocker Spaniel, she`s 4 years old and I think, that she is lovely natured and a great family pet. Daisy is medium-sized and not so heavy. She has got curly, brown coat, dark brown eyes and funny, large ears. Her nose is always wet and cold. I think, that my dog is smart, gentle and playful. She understands simple commands like “sit”, “stop” and “come. She runs to me, whenever I call her. She wags her tail and barks always, when she wants to play with me or go out. I like Daisy, so I take care of her. I keep her clean and feed her property. I`m very happy to have a pet like Daisy.
