Once upon a time there was a small cave near a castle where a little dragon lived. Everyone in town was scared that the dragon would grow and become a scary monster. The king said the person who killed the dragon would get a reward of a thousand pieces of gold. A lot of knights tried to complete the task, but every one of them failed because they were too scared of the fire-breathing dragon. Then one day, a new knight came to town and made a vow to kill the monster. He was very brave and people admired him. He went near the cave and yelled to the dragon, "Come out of your cave, you cowardly creature! Let me see you!" The people gathered around heard a weird noise. Then, slowly and timidly, the dragon came out of the cave. He was really small and looked quite defenseless. Everyone lowered their eyes in shame. They misjudged the dragon and felt embarrassed about it. They started talking to it and it turned out it had only breathed fire to defend itself and was scared of people too. They let it live in the cave for however long it wanted, as long as it didn't do them any harm. In the end, everyone was happy and the little dragon could live freely again.
