Death penalty means putting to death people judged to have committed extremely heinous crimes. It's becoming a very controversial issue but I have no doubts that capital punishment is not a good solution.
First of all, death sentence is barbaric and not ethical. There is no a humane method of putting a person to death. It's terrible for the criminal as well as their family and in my opinion no one can decide about lives of other people.
Secondly, if the murder will be put to death, there is no chance of rehabilitation for them. It would be much more better if they could do something good for the society. What more, death sentence could be overused and there is a danger innocent people could be executed.
On the other hand, some people claim there is no proper penalty for some terrible crimes and capital punishment seems be the only adequate one. In addition, it could prevent future murders and make society safer.
To sum up, I think that capital punishment is not morally permissible. In my opinion it won't reduce future murders and is against human's dignity. Therefore life sentence would be a better punishment.
