National style - a term for the style sought after in European countries in the nineteenth and early twentieth century's, especially in architecture and craftsmanship. It is based on the specific forms to the given country. It is present in a conscious way for the creator of the work and its recipient would be the carrier of certain ideas: national or sometimes even nationalist. Particularly it was favored over the forms taken from native folk art from the past.
