For thousands of years people have been using many different languages. Currently there are over 6000 thousand languages. The majority of people use many languages to communicate each other daily. There are many advantages and disadvantages of learning foreign languages as shown below.
There are certain benefits of learning foreign languages. To start with, everyone would be able to communicate easily. This could make life easier. Furthermore, schools would be more scientific because everyone would want to learn . Each one would know its mother tongue and for example English would be the language in which everyone would speak and write fluently. Last but not least, people would feel more unified knowing one common language, there would not by any detachment of the inhabitants of some areas.
Nevertheless, studying foreign languages entails a few negative aspects. Firstly, there in the world are people who are blind, so they would not be able to study. Moreover, it is incredibly time-consuming, thus we would not have time for anything. Lastly, not everyone would be able to learn a foreign language. For the elderly people, it would be very challenging.
Taking everything into consideration, although learning foreign languages has a few pros, it also has many cons. I personally believe that if all the people spoke one language, they would not be able to get along.
