Dear Sir, I am writing this letter to you because I would like to tell you that I don't agree with your statement. Humans are responsible for a climate change and it is not a natural process.
The report of the IPCC says that a greater than a 90 percents of heat-trapping gases from human activities have caused “most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century. There are many human fingerprints on carbon overload. We burn fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) in order to generate electricity or drive our cars. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, where it traps heat. There are many other evidences which prove that changes are our fault.
Deforestation: burning and removing vegetation. Every plant takes in carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen. When land is cleared and trees or vegetation removed or burnt, the stored carbon is converted back into carbon dioxide. Before European settlement in 1788, forest and woodlands covered 54% of Australia. This has now been reduced to 42%, mainly through landclearing.
Farming can also have bad influence. Animals, particularly sheep and cattle, produce large amounts of methane. Some fertilisers also release nitrous oxide, which is another greenhouse gas.
As you can see there are many things which can take part in causing the greenhouse effect. I hope you will consider this issue one more time.
