Maria Sklodowska-Curie [1] (born 7 November 1867 in Warsaw, died. July 4, 1934, in Passy) - physicist and chemist of Polish nationality. Most of her life she spent in France, where he developed his career in science. The precursor of a new branch of chemistry - Radiochemistry. Its major accomplishments include: developing the theory of radiation, radioactive isotope separation techniques and the discovery of two new elements - radium and polonium. Under her personal supervision also performed the world's first research on the treatment of cancer using radiation.
