My family members and I celebrate Easter holidays in a customary way. The ambience is invariably cheerful. We look forward to Easter Sunday with excitement. On Maundy Thursday, we attend the evening mass. That day is the commemoration of the Last Supper. When we come back home, it's the time to do some Easter house cleaning, which is a common practice in Poland. On Good Friday, we finally finish cleaning and start to prepare our Easter basket. There are among others Easter eggs, cold cuts, salt, bread, and an Easter lamb that represents the Resurrection of Christ. Good Friday is the only day when there is no mass. On Holy Saturday, we go to church and have our Easter basket blessed. On Easter Sunday, we get up early and attend the solemn mass. Afterwards, there is a family gathering where we share an Easter egg. It's a great opportunity to see one another one more time. Wet Monday is never a lucky day to me. Traditionally, my friends pour a few buckets of water on me and as a result I always catch a cold. Although it's a tiring period of time, I love Easter holidays!
