A bicykle, often called a bike or a cycle started as a really wierd compered to the construction, that is in use now. The first type of a bicycal was invented by Mede de Sivrac of France at about 1790. But, the first model of this vehicle was invented by Baron Karl von Drais de Sauerbrun, from Germany. This is the version of a cycle, that has two weals. Kirkpatrick MacMillan (1812-1878) from Scotland invented the first bike with foot pedals in the 1830 to 1840', but he never realy patented it and his idea did not catch on localy. Pierre and Ernest Michaux french carriage makers, invented an improved version, based on the project made by Kirkpatrick MacMillan. One of the things that made a very big change, was that in the versions from the 18'th and 19'th century had bigger wheels at the front. Many early bicycles, also had tires made out of wood.
