One of the most popular and specific Polish dishes are duplings called piroshky. They are filled with a potato-onion mixture and are usually eaten with some browning (=zasmażka).
Another traditional Polish food is a żurek -- a soup from fermented rye flour. A twin dish, the white borsch, is eaten during the Easter season.
