Maryla Rodowicz, real name Maria Antonina Rodowicz - Polish singer, guitarist and actress, former athlete. During her teenage years, she trained in athletics.Winner of the bronze medal in the 80 m hurdles race at the 1959 Polish Youth Championship and the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m relay race at the 1962 Polish Youth Championship. Parallel to her sports activities, in 1962 she made her debut as a singer in the qualifying rounds for the 1st Festival of Young Talents in Szczecin . She appeared on the professional stage for the first time five years later, taking part in the Festival of Student Songs and Singers in Krakow and participating in recordings at the Radio Song Studio. In 1970, she released her debut studio album entitled: "Żyj mój świecie"
